Vanilla Scones

Try out these delicious and easy scones for with breakfast or an afternoon snack!


2 1/2 cups flour

1/2 cup sugar

1 1/12 tsp. baking powder

1/2 tsp. baking soda

1 stick of butter (cold)

1/2 to 3/4 cup buttermilk

2 vanilla beans (or 2 table spoons vanilla extract)

Cut vanilla beans in half and scrape out the seeds. Place seeds in the buttermilk and let sit for 15 minutes. Mix together the dry ingredients, and then cut in the butter. Blend the vanilla buttermilk into the mixture. Shape the dough into 2 circles. Lightly moisten the dough with buttermilk, and sprinkle with sugar. Cut circles into 8 slices (for mini scones) or 4 slices (for large scones). Refrigerate for 30 minutes prior to baking to ensure butter remains cold. Bake on parchment paper for 15 minutes at 350 degrees fahrenheit. Let cool, and enjoy!
